Advancing Health Data Innovation with Data Lake

 

Region Skåne and SmiLe Venture Hub are collaborating on the "Data Lake" project with the long-term goal to create a secure health data repository, aimed at improving healthcare and fostering innovation. Companies have been invited to test their business ideas by submitting test pilot cases to the project.

 

The Data Lake project is a major initiative focused on creating a secure patient data resource. This resource is designed to boost research and innovation by securely collecting and analyzing large-scale data from the population of Skåne. The project aims to make it possible to uncover complex disease patterns and correlations, ultimately driving better treatments and more efficient healthcare systems.

 

This initiative not only enhances research opportunities but also strengthens Skåne's Life Science industry by fostering collaboration between business and healthcare through innovative, data-driven solutions.

 

The Nordic-Baltic region has been at the forefront of cross-country collaboration in the use of health data, influencing broader European efforts. The tools and approaches developed in the "Data Lake" project are not only supporting Sweden's Life Science sector but also contributing to the EU's goals of enhancing health data utilization for research and innovation. Companies participating in this initiative will help generate new insights, fostering innovation that transcends borders.
