Yet another SmiLe alumni company, Bioextrax, has launched an IPO and is traded on Spotligth Stock Market as of April. Bioextrax specializes in research and development of technology platforms that are used to convert organic waste into various environmentally friendly materials like bioplastics, animal feed and fibres.
After having participated in the SmiLe incubator program 2015-2017, Bioextrax has continued its success in developing bio-based, chemical-free production processes and is now the 15:th SmiLe company to launch an IPO.
“I am always thrilled to see our incubator companies succeed. By giving our member companies extensive support in developing and commercializing their business ideas and providing access to a unique laboratory infrastructure and an international network of experts, mentors and investors, we make sure that they have all the tools they need to develop on their own when they leave SmiLe. The fact that Bioextrax is the 15:th SmiLe company to launch an IPO proves that this concept works”, says Ebba Fåhraeus, CEO of SmiLe.
Bioextrax was founded in 2014 based on research from Lund University and is part of Lund University’s holding company, LU Holdings, company portfolio.
Other SmiLe companies that have launched IPO’s are Cantargia AB, Iconovo AB, Xintela AB, A1M Pharma AB, Acousort AB, B!BB Instruments AB, Clinical Laserthermia Systems AB, Idogen AB, Immunovia AB, Nexam Chemical Holding AB, PharmaLundensis AB, Phase Holographic Imaging, Spago Nanomedical AB and NorInvent AB (de-listed)
