Open Call for Applications to Support Cellular Agriculture Innovators Entering the EU Market

APROVALS (Accelerating PROteins innoVAtion beyond reguLatory Sandboxes), a EU-funded initiative, is dedicated to advancing regulatory innovation in cellular agriculture, particularly cell-grown meat. We invite companies aiming to enter the European market to apply from April 14 to June 9, 2025, for regulatory support and the opportunity to be part of shaping the regulatory landscape.

This initiative APROVALS supports companies developing products through cell culture, precision fermentation, or biomass fermentation, that are planning enter the European market and navigate the intricate EU regulatory environment. Eligible applicants should have experience engaging with EU policies or regulatory frameworks, be based in the EU or an associated country, and show commitment to collaborative, pre-competitive innovation.

Selected companies will collaborate with leading experts, sharing practical insights from testing and regulatory processes, and participating in coordinated dialogues with European regulators and policymakers. The goal is to establish a unified sector voice, improve understanding of regulatory requirements for novel foods, and contribute to evidence-based recommendations that facilitates the safe and efficient market entry of cellular agriculture products.
