Yet another successful collaboration in the Smile community is established: two alumni members, Redoxis and Cellevate, team up to be able to offer optimized life science services. Cellevate´s nanomaterial – acting as a 3D cell culture system and thereby mimicking real cell behaviour – is improving the inflammation research services Redoxis provides to its customers.
As alumni members, companies enjoy the benefits of the SmiLe community even after leaving the incubator. Having continued access to a network of other life science innovators, sharing knowledge, expertise and services with each other, the companies can develop and grow and ultimately do business with each other.
The recent cooperation between the two alumni members Redoxis, a CRO specializing in preclinical models for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, and Cellevate, a biotech company using nanomaterials to develop the next generation 3D cell culture systems, is an example of the SmiLe community at its best.
By teaming up and using Cellevates 3D cell culture, Redoxis has been able to now offer their customers an increasing range of validated, more physiologically relevant, stable immunology assays.
‘We are very excited about the close collaboration with Cellevate and resulting 3D cell culture models for early evaluation of novel therapies for inflammatory conditions. The implementation of novel technology, like the Cellevate 3D cell culture system, is extremely important and allows us to provide unique in-vivo-like vitro systems with reliable and biologically relevant readouts. With our combined expertise, our customers will gain from increased likelihood of selecting potent candidates and later successful in vivo studies,’ says Malin Hultqvist, CEO of Redoxis
"We are happy about this collaboration in the field of inflammation, as this demonstrates yet another area where more in-vivo-like in-vitro cell cultures can provide benefits and value for our customers. We are fortunate to be part of a community where these opportunities for collaboration, new business and long-lasting relationships with exciting companies such as Redoxis are possible, says Maximilian Ottosson CEO of Cellevate AB.
