Lund, Sweden – The digital obesity clinic Yazen treats obesity by combining weight loss medication and lifestyle changes. With the capital from the rights issue, 37 million Swedish kronor, the company plans to develop its product and continue expanding in Europe.
The investment round is led by Luminar Ventures, with participation from existing shareholders and key executives. Yazen Health has been part of the SmiLes incubator program since 2021.
Yazen Health started its operations two years ago with the vision of helping individuals overcome overweight and obesity. With a team consisting of doctors, dietitian, psychologist, and personal trainer, patients are treated with a combination of medication and lifestyle changes through a digital platform. The company now has 45 employees and significant financial growth per month.
The team includes founders of other successful digital healthcare providers such as MinDoktor and Blodtrycksdoktorn. The founders of Yazen Health are Magnus Nyhlén, a physician and entrepreneur, Otto Bretz, CTO, Fredrik Meurling, CEO, and Martin Carlsson, docent, and specialist physician in endocrinology.
