Exitfest for eight companies from Smile Incubator

In 2018 eight companies left SmiLe’s life science incubator and are now continuing on their journey of development on their own after receiving support for several years from experts in business consulting, trainings, and exposure to international investors and industry. Many have also taken advantage of SmiLe’s well-equipped laboratories.

SmiLe’s goal is to admit about ten new startup companies annually, while about ten companies leave the incubator each year. The companies receive customized help to challenge and fine-tune their business concepts and the support they need to grow.

Since 2007 when the life science incubator was founded, 41 companies have graduated. SmiLe has helped a total of 70 companies to develop their products for better health, including the current 22 member companies. Ninety percent of them are still active or growing. The companies that left SmiLe Incubator in 2018 have raised almost SEK 20 million in venture capital since 2014.

“In addition to support from SmiLe, these new entrepreneurs – who are often alone in the beginning – meet ‘colleagues’ who, while engaged in other companies in our stimulating environment, face similar technological, regulatory and commercial issues. And they also have fun together. We would like to wish the best of luck to each exiting company and I am convinced that we will hear more from these companies in the future,” says Ebba Fåhraeus, CEO of SmiLe Incubator.

Exit Party: January 24, 4-7 p.m. in SmiLe Incubator’s premises at Medicon Village in Lund.

The following eight companies left SmiLe Incubator in 2018: Longboat Explorers, Emmace, ImmuneBiotech, Apoglyx, Edvince, Akuru Pharma, Truly Labs and Instant Advice.
