Lund, Sweden – Manje Health has been selected to join the prestigious Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV Programme, a leading initiative supporting fintech companies with solutions that create societal impact.
From a shortlist of 12 companies pitching to an expert panel on 4 February, Manje Health was selected as one of six (6) companies joining the spring cohort of the three-month hybrid programme run by Mastercard in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The programme provides technical and strategic support, partnership introductions, and access to investors.
Manje Health AB is a Lund based company that has developed compliant cross-border healthcare payments infrastructure for Africa, enabling users to bypass slow, expensive and fragmented remittance channels.
“Being selected for the programme is a powerful validation of our mission to transform how healthcare payments move across borders and gives us the global platform to accelerate our impact. The backing strengthens both our credibility and our path to scale, giving us direct access to Mastercard’s global investor network, expertise, and partnerships as we build out our EU-Africa corridor,” says Prudence Persson, CEO of Manje Health.
Being part of Mastercard Lighthouse comes at a pivotal moment for the company. Through partnerships with leading insurers and a pipeline network of 700 hospitals in Africa, the company is now going to market, after a successful commercial pilot in Ghana.
Speaking after the selection, Mats Taraldsson, Fintech and Impact Tech Engagement, Mastercard Northern Europe, highlighted that “with Mastercard Lighthouse MASSIV’s mission to help as many people as possible live more prosperous and secure lives, we – together with our program partners – are very excited to begin working with the six selected impact companies. Each of these companies addresses one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our focus is on enabling partnerships that help them scale, accelerate their impact, and receive the support they need as they work to achieve their missions and realize their visions”
Manje Health is a portfolio company of SmiLe Inject Capital and an alumni company of SmiLe Venture Hub.
