SmiLe company offers primary care center via app

Attain Health, a new e-health company focusing on the care and treatment of chronic diseases, is moving into SmiLe Incubator in Lund, Sweden. The company is a registered care provider that offers medical care digitally via an app, online measuring equipment at home and a personal doctor available online.

While many health apps are available, few connect the individual to the healthcare system and provide direct contact with a doctor. Attain Health is involved across the entire care chain from patient to doctor and aims to get patients to take control of their illness.

Some benefits for patients are better understanding of the disease and proactive initiatives if something is heading in the wrong direction, which gives increased security. Questions, answers and advice can be sent at any time between patient and doctor via the app.

"We want to put patients in the driver’s seat, provide proactive care, support them in changing their lifestyle, and as an added benefit, reduce the load on other care providers. The goal is healthier patients who can achieve a better quality of life. The founders of the company are spread across southern Sweden, but we want to be at SmiLe to be in an environment where we can learn from other companies and take advantage of all the assistance offered to new companies, such as business development and communication support,” says Doctor Martin Carlsson, one of the four founders. 

Attain Health has developed a first version of the app and medical records system. Their virtual primary care center is ideal for patients with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and asthma. In the first version, the company targets people with high blood pressure.

“E-health companies receive considerable help from our experts in fields such as regulatory issues specific to healthcare and pharmaceuticals. And in Skåne there are several e-health initiatives, such as Health2B and Health-Tech Nordic,” says Ebba Fåhraeus, CEO of SmiLe Incubator.
