SmiLe company representatives attend Nordic investor conference

This week around 30 life science companies from southern Sweden – almost half of which are associated with SmiLe – are attending the LSX Nordic congress at NASDAQ in Stockholm. The investors include Swedish HealthCap and Industrifonden, Danish Sunstone, Novo Holding and the Lundbeck Foundation, and Norwegian Serendipity Partners.

The conference, which is being held for the second year, attracts a total of about 100 companies in a variety of fields, including pharma and medtech. They primarily come from the Nordic region, including about 60 from Sweden, but other European countries are also represented. A large number of investment companies from all over Europe are also attending the event.

Of the 13 SmiLe companies that are participating, four are incubator companies and nine are SmiLe alumni. The listed former SmiLe companies include A1M Pharma, Cantargia, CLS, Immunovia, Spago Nanomedical and Xintela.

“We work proactively to help incubator companies to become ‘investor-ready,’ and it is rewarding to see that our efforts are achieving results. Our extremely high-quality companies from southern Sweden attract international capital. Last summer several Swedish publications wrote about the fabulous figures that the SmiLe companies have achieved: during the first half of the year the incubator companies raised SEK 85 million – the corresponding figure for all 70 companies that have been part of SmiLe Incubator at some time is almost SEK 600 million,” says Ebba Fåhraeus, CEO of SmiLe Incubator in Lund.
