SmiLe in talks with minister on Danish-Swedish Life Science cooperation

On September 1st, SmiLe participated in a roundtable discussion with the Swedish Minister for Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs, Anna Hallberg, about the importance of cross-border collaboration between Sweden and Denmark in Life Science.

The meeting, which was arranged by the Embassy of Sweden in Copenhagen, Business Sweden and Medicon Valley Allience, highlighted the issue of removing cross-border barriers in order to secure jobs and growth as well as strengthen the region’s competitiveness and position as the leading Nordic life science cluster.

”We welcome the initiative and we are very pleased that we had the opportunity to participate and discuss a topic that is very important to us. As a life science incubator, purely focused on life science and with the task of promoting and commercializing innovations, SmiLe is dependent on a cross-border collaboration in terms of customers, expertise, research and capital. The Öresund region is a large market with untapped potential and fewer border barriers would open new opportunities", says Lina Boreson, COO of SmiLe Incubator.

The roundtable discussion was moderated by Petter Hartman, CEO of Medicon Valley Alliance, and among the participants were business leaders as well as representatives of universities and research infrastructures in Sweden and Denmark.
