Today SmiLe launches ‘SmiLe Innovation Days’ – a completely new concept to support innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging new areas of health and wellbeing. SmiLe Innovation Days is a series of mini-conferences designed to inspire and encourage scientists and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop tomorrow’s science-based solutions. The first conference ‘Microbiome and Nutritional Science’ will be held on December 9-10.
SmiLe Innovation Days brings together science, innovation and entrepreneurship to support the development of science-based business ideas in health and wellbeing. Through a series of mini-conferences, hosted by SmiLe Incubator, researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs have a unique opportunity to engage, connect and learn about a number of promising fields, as well as receive support in turning research and ideas into business opportunities.
“I’m very excited about this new concept that puts the spotlight on new and emerging fields of health and wellbeing. There is a lot of brilliant research and untapped potential in this area and by giving scientists and entrepreneurs the opportunity to interact and be inspired by successful role models we want to encourage them to develop their business ideas,” says Ebba Fåhraeus, CEO of SmiLe Incubator
The first SmiLe Innovation Days conference – ‘Microbiome and Nutritional Science’ – will focus on what is happening at the intersection of nutrition, medicine, and biotechnology. This two-day conference covers a number of topics; from specific subjects like gut microbiome, medical nutrition, functional foods and food supplements to discussing the latest regulatory frameworks and how to protect a science-based invention. Participants with an idea for a science-based solution, or startups, can also apply to be selected for free business coaching by experts from SmiLe and Lund University Innovation.
This online conference will be held on December 9-10 and is open to researchers, entrepreneurs, and others with a keen interest in turning science into commercial solution. For more information and registration, please go to SmiLe Innovation Days.
