SmiLe recruits Sylvie Bove as new business adviser

Sylvie Bove is a new external business adviser for the startup companies at SmiLe Incubator. She was previously CEO of EIT Health, the EU innovation initiative that she built up, and she has held global positions at various companies, including Ferring Pharmaceuticals. She has also served on the board of directors at several biotech companies and has a unique network of contacts with European stakeholders in the industry.

Sylvie Bove built up and was CEO of the EU initiative EIT Health from its inception in 2015. EIT Health currently has over 70 people employed throughout Europe who provide programs that support innovation projects, education and business acceleration of medtech, biotech and pharmaceutical companies. EIT Health has an annual budget of over EUR 65 million. Sylvie comes from the life science industries where she has held several global positions in strategic marketing and business development, including Global Brand Director, Female Health at Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Vice President, Urology and Incontinence at the Danish company Coloplast.

In recent years, Sylvie has focused on the interface between academia, public-private partnerships and industry collaboration. She has developed an innovation platform at Lund University and also contributed to the creation of Copenhagen’s Healthtech Cluster. From September 2015 until January 2018 she was CEO of EIT Health. Her many years of experience serving on the board of directors at life science companies and her unique European network of leading investors, stakeholders in the industries and in academia within health care will also be a huge asset for the incubator companies at SmiLe.

Sylvie Bove will be available as an adviser to SmiLe companies up to three days a week.
