SmiLe represents Swedish life science innovation at Expo 2020 in Dubai

News from SmiLe Incubator, Sweden: SmiLe will participate in Expo 2020 in Dubai as part of Swecare’s official Life Science delegation. During the Health & Wellness week, SmiLe will showcase the breadth and depth of early Swedish life science innovation and participate in discussions on global healthcare challenges.

SmiLe’s participation at the Health and Wellness Week kicks off on January 31st as CEO Ebba Fåhraeus joins a panel discussion hosted by the India-Sweden Healthcare Innovation Centre. In this panel titled “Role of Technology and Innovation in the new age healthcare delivery” experts from both public and private sector in India and Sweden will share experiences and discuss possible ways forward to strengthen the healthcare systems to make them more resilient.

On February 1-2, SmiLe will participate in the virtual programme hosted by Swecare, The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and Vision Zero Cancer in the Swedish Pavilion, and showcase a number of innovative solutions developed by SmiLe companies. The programme, dedicated to discussing solutions to global healthcare challenges, consists of a ministerial roundtable and presentations and discussions with speakers and experts from Sweden, the Gulf region and other partner countries as well as WHO.

On February 2nd, there will be a short video presentation by Kristina Masson from Smile company Acrivon – “Patient selection test to match therapeutics with patients” – as part of the program focusing on the elimination of cancer as a life-threatening disease for future generations.

Xinnate uses nature’s own host defense through its lead drug candidate BioC to combat infection and inflammation in wounds and other topical indications.

GPX MEDICAL has developed NEOLA - as a non-invasive medical device for continuous monitoring of the lungs of preterm born infants with an instant detection of complications. 

Acrivon specializes in accelerated drug development in oncology, using a unique, predictive phospho-proteomic approach. Their proprietary technology platform identifies drug-tailored biomarker signatures for patient responder identification, to enable increased efficacy and successful clinical outcomes.
